Frank E. Young, 79, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. He was preceded by his parents, Kenneth and Ida Boyd Young and a brother, James Young.
Frank was a longtime employee of Roanoke Electric Steel.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Shirley Cromer Young; son, Randy Waylon Young and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Vickie Renee Young; grandchildren, Jordan and Zachary Young; and his devoted pet, Frankie.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Electric Road Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home 3912 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.

Shirley and family - I was so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. When I got the sad news, his service had already been held or I would surely have been there. Please know that you guys are in our thoughts and prayers. Even though we didn't get to see each other often, he was a very special cousin!!! I'm sure God will remind you of many special memories to comfort you!
