Mrs. Green was born in Brawley, Ca, on October 20, 1936, and that is where she grew up. She married James Green in 1954. She attended SDSU, where she graduated with a BA in education. Mrs. Green had three children while attending school. Mrs. Green taught both 1st and 4th grades for many years at Westmorland Elementary. Before retiring, she took a couple of years off, then returned to teach at Calipatria State Prison and retire from there.
Mrs. Green loved traveling, she loved to take educational vacations. Always wanting to visit historical locations with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; daughters, Roberta Johnson and Terrie Green; and son, Mike Green; all of them residents of Brawley, Ca.
Survivors include her sister, Geraldine Rutledge of Yucca Valley; brother, Ron Graves of Temecula Ca; and her grandchildren, Melissa Green, Dusty Johnson of Brawley Ca; Julie Green of Texas; and Mike Johnson Jr., of Bullhead City; great-grandchildren, Hayley and Colby Anderson, Shane, Isaac, Alexandra, Emery, Avery, and Tinley Green, Keegan and Presley Huffman, Seth and Hayden Johnson; great-great granddaughters, Graceyn and Riverlyn Anderson
Memorial service will be held on January 26, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley, CA.
