Fred Contreras

I would like to know if I can get a copy of the eulogy because I wrote it. If that could be possible.

I and my sisters Lisa and Andrea were fortunate enough to know coach and teacher Fred Contreras at Covina High School. A man of principle and a fine coach and educator. I played basketball for coach Fred at CHS, and very much benefitted from his leadership and mentorship. He was a fine man who is already missed!

Fred was a great man whose company and intelligence I enjoyed. I'm glad to see his kids keeping this spirit alive.

I was his student for 3 years at Covina High School. Mr. Contreras was a dignified, kind man and I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Kathy, Robb, Mary Frances, and Matt I just heard of the passing of your husband/dad from a former student of his at Northview, who is a sign language interpreter for one of my students. Fred was not only a role model for his students, but also for many of the teachers that worked with him. He was one inspirational man, who touched the lives of many. When I retire from education next year I will recall the fond memories I had working with Fred Contreras!

To the Contreras Family,

He had a gift of bringing out the best in his students. I won't forget this. How lucky I was to be his student at CHS (both as a sophomore and a senior)! As a teacher now for 16 years, I am still striving to be as good as Mr. Contreras was. He has definitely created a legacy. My thoughts are with you.

I was a student of his at NVHS, my condolences to his family.

My sincere sympathy to Mr. Contreras's family and friends. He was my teacher at Northview High & I'm truly thankful for having him as a teacher & role model of sincerity. God's speed Coach C.

My husband and I both were students of Mr. Contreras at NVHS. We would like to thank his family for sharing him with us. One of the truly best teachers they do not make them like him anymore...God Speed....

Fred was my basketball coach, AP English teacher (COVINA HIGH 89-92) and most of all my friend. We shared in many good conversations over over the years and I am very sad to see him go. In these last remaining years of his life, He would tell me not to feel sorry for him. Fred would state, "I abhor pity." I was blessed to have known such a man of good character and grace.

Fred and the boys had their hair cut and styled by Sal for over 30 years. Fred was such a wonderful person, so vivacious and he always had a smile. We will always remember the laughs and funny jokes that we shared. Fred was a great person who will be dearly missed by all. Rest in Peace.....

Very sad news. He was my English teacher at NVHS in 1979. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family. So sorry for your loss.
