GUILDERLAND Fred Mack Dunham Jr. passed away from cardiac failure in Naples, Fla. on February 26, 2006 at the age of 77. Born on September 26, 1928 in Tulsa, Okla., Sonny, as he was known to his family, was the son of Bessie (nee Biby) and Fred M. Dunham Sr. He graduated from Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa in 1946 and the Oklahoma Military Academy (now Rogers State University) in Claremore, Okla. in 1948. He also attended the Merchant Marine Cadet School in Pass Christian, Miss. Mr. Dunham sailed in the Merchant Marine on routes between New Orleans and South America, before serving as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps in Korea and Japan during the Korean War. In 1953, while stationed in Japan, he married Joan M. Nagle of Brooklyn, N.Y. At the end of his military service, they moved to Guilderland, N.Y., where they raised their four children. In Guilderland, Mr. Dunham was self-employed. He founded two businesses, the Solder Pot, Inc. and Nu-Techniques Marketing. He was also a director of Key Bank for Albany and Eastern New York and he served on the board of the Sacandaga Lake Association. He enjoyed his retired years with his wife at Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondacks (Edinburg, N.Y.) and on the Gulf Coast of Fla. (Bonita Springs). Fred Dunham is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan and their children and grandchildren, Patricia and Nicholas Marzola (Christopher, Shane and Kyle) of Manlius, N.Y.; Peter Dunham and Beth Ekelman (Daniel Ranke) of Cleveland, Ohio; Mary Ann Dunham and Robert Aber Jr. (Theodore) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Steven and Suzanne Dunham (Jarret and Elena) of Rotterdam, N.Y. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Dunham, and sister, Mary Williamson of Inola, Okla. He was predeceased by his brother, Dwight Dunham, also of Inola. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike, Guilderland (just west of Carman Rd). Funeral services will begin 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of the Word service at 10 a.m. at St. Madeleine Sophie Church. Burial will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Jewish-Catholic Dialogue of the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese.

Fred an I go back many years, I believe it was 1964 when we met for the first time. His expertese and knowledge in business was exceptoinal and our business and personal friendship lasted thru out those years.
