Fred H. "Buster" Elmgren Sr.

We were saddened to hear about Uncle Buster's passing. Although my husband and I have not see him in his later years we will miss him.

I am the daughter of Horace L. (Red) Roberts, who was Uncle Buster's brother-in-law.

To my dearest Butch and the Elmgren family:

I feel so fortunate and so blessed that I was able to meet your Grandaddy. He, as well as all of you, welcomed me with open arms... he had given me his little statue of the filipino saint that was given to him many years ago, and an Angel pin the last time I saw him. I will always remember him smiling and beaming with pride on those nights when we all sat together and watched Butch on stage with Harry.

Dear Fred, I was so sorry to hear about you Father.Il seems like only yesterday we were"Happy Go Lucky" kids growing up in the most beautiful spot in the world= Isle of Hope.I remember your Father as one of the nicest people I ever met,your Mother,too.How blessed we were to walk the Bluff Rd,swim in the river,watch movies at Barbees on Friday nights,sing O Holy Night on Christmas Eve in that lovely little Chapel"Our Lady of Good Hope" and live where everybody knew everyone-loving adults looking out for us. It was a special time and your Father was a big part of it. I'm so grateful to have been there and to have known him. My Love and Prayers for the Family. Jude

Please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences on Bro. Elmgren's passing. Though I knew him only briefly at Holy Family Council # 5588, he was a fine leader and Grand Knight. He served and honored our fraternity and our church well. Grace and peace to all....you are in my prayers.

Fred, Butch, Leigh Ann and family... my heart goes out to you. You all can be comforted in the fact that Mr Elmgren touch many lives.

I remember my first St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee meeting, Mr. Fred was one of the only ones who talked to me and made me feel comfortable. Ever since then I made it a point to go over and talk to him any time I saw him.

I've also still have the Gaurdian Angel pin he gave me. Now when I wear it I will think of him and all the goodness he displayed.



Fred, Butch, and Leigh Ann... I want you to know if there is any thing you need please don't hesitate to call.

To my friend "Butch"; Im truly sorry for your loss. It is never easy to give up a family member.

Granddaddy, you will surley be missed. I will always remember your sharp humor,jokes, and who could ever forget that amazing laugh. I love you ,and know that you are in a better place now. God bless

Chris, your grandfather was a remarkable man. I have always held much admiration and respect for him and his dedication to his faith and fellowman. The world and the city of Savannah has been a better place because he was a part of it. I will miss seeing him every ST. Patrick's day in the Cathedral where I proudly would assist him.

i was sad to read of fred's death this morning. his was a most distinguished and full life of service to his friends, church and our order. while extending sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time, i know you are all comforted in faith that he has passed through death to life with our lord, and his most blessed mother. he now resides with the angels, and that is a joy he earned. our prayers are with you today, jack and judy

To the family of Mr Fred: A man loved by all who knew him. He was devoted to his family, church, KofC, and 4th degree Knight. LeighAnn, my heart goes out to you and the rest of his family. I lost Eddie in July, and it is not easy, even if they have been ill for a long time and you know that God has relieved him of his pain, it still will remain with you. You are in my prayers. Remember the good times and hold those memories close until God calls you to join him. May God bless and watch over you all. If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to call me.
