3rd Generation Native of Santa Ana
Fred Wallace Forgy Jr., 86, of Santa Ana, CA, passed away on May 29, 2017 in Santa Ana, CA. Fred was a 3rd generation native of Santa Ana, born March 11, 1931 and is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his sister, Joan Savage; children, Merrilee Harris, Carey Schulte and Fritz Forgy; seven grandchildren; and many loving family members and friends.
As an integral member of the Santa Ana community, Fred graduated from Santa Ana High, graduated from UC Berkeley and Boalt Law School, and joined his father's and grandfather's Santa Ana law practice in 1957. He enjoyed the practice of law for over five decades. He served as a director on several local businesses, including playing a key role in the continued development of Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary.
While a prominent member of the business community, Fred will be best remembered for his mischief and legendary wit. He was a joy to be with. Whether adventuring at his much beloved South Fork or Mt. Lassen, flying small planes through the western US and Mexico, or boating in Newport and beyond, he brought endless happy memories. He recruited all of us into his innumerable "projects" and always left a place a little better for having been there. He was truly a force in the lives of those who knew him and will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, June 18th, 2017 at 10:45am at Waverley Chapel, Fairhaven Memorial Park. Reception to follow. www.FairhavenMemorial.com
