CONCORD - Fred Furr, 66, of 3125 Zion Church Road, Concord, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at CMC-NorthEast. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Hartsell Funeral Home, from 6-8 p.m. At other times, the family will meet at the home. Mr. Furr was born Nov. 21, 1940 in Stanly County to the late John P. Furr and the late Etta Eury Furr. He retired from Winn-Dixie, where he was a truck driver. He had many friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Furr is preceded in death by his brothers, Claudie and Walter Furr; and sisters, Ruby, Ruth, Madie and Lena. Surviving are wife, Helen M. Furr of the home; sons, Anthony "Tony" Furr, and wife Joanne, of Landis and Michael Furr of Concord; brothers, Robert Furr, and wife Ruth, of Stanfield and Obie Perry Furr of Concord; sisters, Annie Hurlocker of Greensboro, Bessie Obrien, and husband Bob, of Asheboro, Bertia Holloman, and husband David, of Archdale, and Liddie Russ of Concord; and grandchildren, Felicia, Bethany, Aaron, Heather and Dillon. My wife and I was sadden to hear of Fred's passing. I worked with Fred for 20 years at Winn-Dixie. My wife seen him at the store. We both thought alot of him. He was a real good friend. May God be with you in your time of sorrow.
