Fred Siegfried, age 66, of 128 Dana Lane, Harvey, died Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2007 at his home in the loving presence of his family and in the care of Lake Superior Hospice. Mr. Siegfried was born on May 24, 1941 in Detroit to the late Frederick and Rosemary Roehrig Siegfried. Fred previously owned and operated Frederick's Glass in Westland, Michigan. After moving to this area, he was employed at Champion Glass for a time, but was mostly known as a self employed 'jack of all trades.' Fred enjoyed woodworking with a passion. Over the last three years, he worked on numerous woodworking projects for his children. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Westland. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Siegfried of Harvey; eight children, Ann James Riley of Marquette, Fred Summer Siegfried of Hartland, Robert Kay Kellar of Green Bay, WI, Mike Tonya Siegfried of Brighton, Rochelle Mike Green of Gainesville, FL, Bill Sandy Kellar of Holman, WI, Mary Ann Hemstock of Milwaukee, WI and John Siegfried of Linden, MI; two brothers, Michael Vickie Siegfried of Pigeon, MI and Larry Kathy Siegfried of Wintergarden, FL; a sister, Sue Ann Harold Reeg of Ocala, FL; also 20 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, Leonard Siegfried. Funeral services will be held in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ben Paris officiating. Burial will take place in the Park Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Lake Superior Hospice Association, 914 Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855 in Mr. Siegfried's memory.
