Aunt Freda, it was truly a privilage to be your nephew. Nobody else I know cared about people the way you did. Your wisdom, made a difference in my life in troubled times. I cant believe your gone. You will be in my heart and my mind till the day I die. Love and miss you so much!!!

The emptiness left with my mom’s passing was cushioned through the years with things like “Aunt Freed’s box” which we anticipated coming in the mail each Christmas regardless where we lived with individually wrapped presents to my children and us to be opened Christmas morning. I always enjoyed her hearty laughter and how she made me feel wanted and connected at reunions and get-togethers. It wasn’t until my children started to leave home, though, that I most appreciated her strength, wisdom and beauty as a woman. She answered her phone whenever home and whether I sounded excited, sad, frustrated or bored she’d seem happy to pour a cup of coffee, sit and give me her undivided attention for however long. Even on her hospital bed when we hesitated to call, she seemed to welcome them. I’ll always cherish one such call that I tried to cut short after a nurse came in. Instead of letting me go, though, I was told, don’t hang up, ok? in a way that didn’t feel so much like a question. I was left to listen as she let the nurse know about an annoying alarm to keep Aunt Freed from falling. I’ll never forget at first feeling sorry for but then impressed with hearing the undemanding way Aunt Freda spoke up for herself until the nurse agreed saying, “ok we’ll undo it...it’s just that we don’t get many 92yr olds so mobile like you!” I was left speechless because then she picked me back up and asked me something to continue our conversation as if nothing had just happened!! I don’t like the thought of spending life without her and so I can’t imagine the emptiness that those of you who live close to her will feel. I feel sorry for this and I love you. I can’t imagine all you’ll feel in the months ahead but I can see us being here for each other as she’s been here for us. We are a large yet fairly connected family which makes me realize again how blessed and better our lives are because of her. I picture Aunt Freed unrestrained and laughing again with mom and the others she’s been missing and in this same spirit of love I’m only a text or phone call away and counting the days until we’re together. I look forward to hugging and being together with you.

Ms. Freda was a lovely person and I feel blessed to have known her. My Mom and I enjoyed so much our dinner dates with Panda and Mom! Her smile lives on forever and I know she is with the Lord feeling no pain and happy! May God be with the family in the days ahead, especially my great friend and sister, Panda. Remember the good times and know you all were blessed to have her for a long life. With our deepest sympathy and prayers, Debbie Gourdon and Farron and Mom/Ruth ❤

In remembrance of my sweet and loving mother-in-law. I will always appreciate the Christlike love she showed her family. Everyone was special to her, including friends of family and loved ones. Her love for the Lord was truly evident. She loved life and had the desire to see the world that God created for her and for us all. She was always ready for road trips, including trips out West, traveling to W. Virginia to make sure she was there for her family reunions, and evacuating from Louisiana hurricanes! "Mom" was loved for all her admirable qualities and her love for the Lord. I will miss her until we see each other in heaven one day.

It goes without I miss my Mom. She was a very special person she loved and cared about all of her family and others. I've often said she was mom to her own children and many others also. She is and will be missed, but never forgotten. Love you Mom now and forever.

Find rest Aunt Freed in your Heavenly Father’s loving arms. I love and appreciate the Aunt that you were. But, I am so glad that i have had the opportunity in my later years to get to know you for the beautiful, kind and loving soul that you were. I’m grateful for the visits in Louisiana with you and the rest of the family. You all made us feel so welcome and always opened your homes and hearts so freely. You are definitely one of those people who leave a void in the world when you go. You will be deeply missed but I am so full of hope and anticipation for when we will all be reunited, praising and rejoicing together in our heavenly home. So not Good bye but I’ll see you later. ❤❤❤

I am the oldest grandson. William Thompson. I am also the favorite grandkid of all of them!! (Jk) I have so many memories of my grandmother that talking about just one will not do justice. Here is one thing I can say about her. She had one amazing superpower. She raised an amazing family, my four amazing Uncles and my illustrious mother. She also had this amazing power to love all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren with such intensity. I can remember all the Christmas parties and bbq’s with her. She was always in such great spirit. My grandmother was a go to when I was young. If I didn’t like what was going on at home I would call my grandmother. I am going to miss her so much. I love you grandma and please put in a good word for me up there.

My sweet Grandma, your radiant; beautiful; and full of life self will forever live on in the hearts of those who love and treasure you! I'm so thankful for the 29 years I got to spend loving and learning from you! I can whole heartedly say that you were the mortar that held our family bricks together. You will be so very missed! But I guarantee that you'll also be thought of, mentioned, celebrated, quoted, referenced, and called upon almost daily! Your caring heart, helpful hands, listening ears, positive outlook, and joyful spirit all challenge me to be better. Not only better for myself, but also for those around me and generations after me. Freda Mae Magee you were and are an INCREDIBLE woman! I hope to serve others as well as you have in all the roles I hold! ❤ Thank you for everything! I love you!
