Freda went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2022. She was born on March 3, 1929 to the late John and Ida Richardson Rowland in Smyth County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Privett, who passed away in 1979. In addition, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Grace Crowder Farmer, Rose Stamper, Virgie Hayden, and Betty McClure and by 6 brothers: Carl, Estel, Nathan, George, James, and Lester, and by her granddaughter, Kylene Privett.

Bill and Freda moved to northern Virginia in 1945 where they raised their family. She worked for many years for Howard Johnson's Restaurant, and then for Fairfax County Food Service from which she retired after 28 years.

Survivors include daughter Mildred Niccolls and husband, Gene James of Las Vegas, Nevada, and sons James Privett and his wife Vonna of Manassas Park, Virginia; William (Ron) Privett and wife, Robin, of Clearwater, Florida; Roy Privette and wife Shirley, of Gretna, Virginia. Freda's 7 grandchildren include Kylene Privett (deceased), Kenneth Privette, Kandi Bailey, Kristen Johnson, Jasen Privett, Micah Privett, and Adam Privett. Freda also had 6 great grandchildren including Ruben Bailey, Abbey Privette, Skyler Privett, Makayla Privett, Ryker Privett, and Lilly Johnson. Freda's family of 11 siblings has one sister surving: Shirley Howell of Elkton, Maryland. Freda has left behind many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, plus some wonderful, caring, neighbors and friends.
