GREEN, Freddie Jean MISS FREDDIE JEAN GREEN Service Celebrating her Life TODAY, Saturday, March 24, 2012, 11 am, Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, 1202 W. Marietta St. NW. Instate 10 am. Rev. Dr. R. L. White, Pastor. Rev. Franklin, Officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 10:30 am. Jean never met a stranger and was a social butterfly. The fifth born to the late Fred and Jean Phillips Green on October 10, 1942 in Soperton, Ga and departed this life on March 14, 2012. Her childhood was spent in Pompano Beach, Fl, she graduated from Treutlen County High School in Soperton. Jean moved to Atlanta where she worked and retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years. Although retired she enjoyed working on the Lexus Level at Turner Field Stadium in Atlanta. She also enjoyed discussing politics, watching political debates and watching her two favorite sports teams: The Atlanta Falcons and The Atlanta Braves. A faithfully member of Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church for over 30 years. Preceded in death also by her siblings, Alphonso Green and Jewel Williams. Survivors: sisters, Lizzie Mae (Leotis) Smith, Soperton, Ga, Annette Newsome, Fort Lauderdale, Fl, Evelyn (Joe) Jordan, Atlanta, Doris (Rufus) Hoggan,Lauderhill, Fl, Linda (Black) Gibbons, and Celestine Thompson all of Pompano Beach, Fl; brother, Ronald (Jean) Green; two aunts; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Auntie,
You've been there for me since birth. I will never forget those extra large afro wigs you use to wear and playing in your make-up and jewelry as a little girl. Your army green Ford Pinto that I liked to ride in and your cornbread. I have a gazillion recollections that I could post, but I'm sure I'd get cut off. I will miss you calling and singing happy birthday to me and the boys, our adult conversations and how you kept it real! Holidays won't be the same. I will especially miss hearing you call me pumpkin. Say hey to grandma and the rest of the family. The boys and I love you very much.
