Freddie "Goose" Lester WHITEWOOD, Va. Mr. Freddie "Goose" Lester, age 61, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at his home following an extended illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., he was the son of the late Roscoe and Glenna Marie Warner Lester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gearldine Mullins Lester; and one brother, Roger Lester. He was a retired truck driver with Claude Keen Trucking and loved talking on his C.B. radio and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Lovatta Lester; four daughters, Drema Stanford and husband Terry of Oakwood, Va.; Angela Sparks and husband David of Whitewood, Eva Taylor and husband Ronnie of Pilgrams Knob, Va., and Leann McGraw and husband Joe of Jewell Ridge, Va.; one brother, Randy Lester and wife Debbie of Lebanon, Va.; two sisters, Faye Hackworth of Belfast, Va., and Joann Martinez amd husband Tony of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Matthew Endicott, Laken Stanford, Hunter Taylor, Chelsie Davis, Ethan Davis, Hayden Taylor and Kayla McGraw; one great-grandson, Brayden Adkins; and several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Freddie "Goose" Lester will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel at Keen Mountain, Va., with Rev. Jimmie Cole and Rev. Andy Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery at Pilgrams Knob. Pallbearers will be Carl Owens, Allen Vandyke, Jack Honaker, Ricky Rife, Jude Stiltner, Steven Gibson and Charles Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kabaria and staff, Ricky Mullins, Frank Cantrell, Rex Chamber, Albert Goins Jr., Buddy Fuller, Kirby Cole and Bill Moore.
