Dear Pam and Family,
Although time and distance has been great or memories have lasted. On many occasions we watch our wedding video and there the two of you are. Just as we had been reviewing our photos prior to our son Dalton's recent wedding June 5 2022, there the two of you were. We had some other party occasions to share with the arrival of your grandchildren. Then we moved to Ohio in 2005. So glad we shared those occasions. You have a beautiful family which comes from setting a wonderful example. We want so much to be with you now but doctors orders do not allow me to travel yet. I look forward to a trip to NJ and visit again. For now we celebrate the wonderful life Fred led and the classy gentleman he was. Thanking him for his Service to our country, lessons in the classroom and coaching on the hard board. We can be happy he is in the best place of all, forever in our hearts and in heaven with our loving Father. May you all find peace and happiness daily with each other. God bless and keep you healthy. Love, Shereé & Dean Boszé and family

Mr. Chesky was my Swim I teacher, my freshman year at "Newark State" in the mid 1970's. I was petrified of the water. I remember one day I fell under and he scooped me up with 1 arm! I have always remembered how kind and patient he was. I saw him many years later and reminded him, and we laughed. My sympathy to his family. Rest in peace, kind man.

Fred, our first meeting was when you and Don Naylor visited my temporary office in Battin. We had lunch together and that was the beginning of a food loving kinship from 1978 till your retirement and your wonderful retirement party. You are a class act and my only regret is not stopping by to take you for a ride in my CorvetteI can see your smile right now.

I worked with Fred for 26 of my 44 years spent employed by the Elizabeth Public School System.
I worked with Fred at Battin HS where I was a math teacher and later a counselor and I worked with him at Dwyer House where I was a counselor.
I always had great respect for him as an administrator and a person.
I consider him to have been a Renaissance Man. He was an educator, a jock, a friend, a man’s man, a disciplinarian, a leader, a problem solver, an empathetic listener, an arbitrator someone respected and loved by all.
As I think back on my career as an educator in Elizabeth, my thoughts always return to the people who had an influence on my career and somehow touched me personally. My thoughts always return to Fred Chesky. He leaves an indelible mark on all who knew and worked with him and will long be remembered.

My sincere condolences to the family,
Charlie Heins

He was my first principal at Dwyer from 1995-2001. To this day, he has been the best principal I have had the pleasure to work for. May Fred Rest In Peace.
