Frederick Allan Darwish

In loving memory of Frederick Darwish, a model of generosity, intellect, and loyalty, who left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to call him family. He passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024, at the age of 82.

Fred was born on July 28, 1941, in Dearborn, Mich., to the late Allie and Marion Darwish. He is survived by his loving wife Janie of 44 years, his daughter Michelle Welsh (Brendan), his son David, and his sisters Sharon Oma (Dana), Alice Adamczak (Harry), and Joanna Darwish. He is also survived by his grandchildren Soren, Wilhelmina, and Kiernan Welsh, cousins, and his adored nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved brother Michael.

We will always marvel at his great pride and loyalty. He was the first to lend a helping hand, offering his undivided support without hesitation. His need to see his family thrive knew no bounds; he worked hard to give each of us the best possible life. In his later years, Fred's greatest joy came from his grandchildren. He cherished every wagon ride, push on the swing, and walk in the woods.

Fred was always known for his intelligence - his ability to understand and solve a problem, build a house, and fix a machine. He was a keen observer of politics and world religion with a deep understanding of history, the interconnectedness of world events, and the underlying forces shaping our society.

Though Fred is no longer in our presence, his beloved spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created. We will miss his dry humor, quotable one-liners, and remarkable ability to monologue a moment from years or decades ago. His legacy will endure forever in our hearts.

The family will host a celebration of life for close friends and family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider contributions to the Hospice of Michigan or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Frederick Darwish. May he rest in peace.
