I was at my appointment at the Sheldon Chumir Center only to find out that Dr. Elliot had passed. After the initial shock...I said a prayer as I really admired him as a patient.I am truly saddened by this and the whole urology department has truly lost a great doctor and compasionate man. I am truly one of the fortunate people who knew this great doctor. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Bev,
I was so saddened/choked to hear of Ted's passing. I will always remember his kind soul and warm smile- his soft mannerisms was his way of making all of his patients feel special and cared for.
I feel so blessed to have met him.
Bev, my heart goes out to you and your family.

I just found out from the Kidney Clinic that Dr. Elliott passed away. He performed enlarged Prostate surgery on me on May 6, 2008. He was upsolutely terrific. I saw him a few times at his office. He was extremely helpful and also funny.

Yesterday I was asked if I had attended Ted's funeral. I was shocked and dismayed by the news, as I was not aware of Ted's death. I only knew Ted as a player in our weekly Wednesday afternoon hockey games at Erin Woods. He was always positive, enthusiastic and keen! We will miss his upbeat demeanor on the ice and in the dressing room. My sympathy to his family

I first met Ted during my residency, a couple of decades ago. He had a well-deserved reputation as a highly skilled urological surgeon. In later years I saw him as a role model, a great person, kind and wise, more Doctor than I could ever be. I had the opportunity to play hockey with Ted this year, in our annual provincial doc's hockey tournament. He played the game the same way he lived, with kind passion.
My condolences go out to his family....

My father and I are so greatly shocked to hear of the passing of Dr. Elliot. My father has been a patient of his for many years and has always felt so well taken care of by him. We are Italian and I went to every app't with my father because he does not understand the english language very well. For quite some time I did not have to go in the room with dad as Dr. Elliot and him had an understanding. I was so happy to see how well dad got along with him. We are both so deeply saddened that we will not see him again. It brings tears to our eyes. We give our deepest condolences to his family and Margaret. Dad says God needed him in heaven..this just makes us feel abit better.

Dear Bev,Kevin,Graham, and Megan:
I learned of Ted's untimely passing today. Had I been aware earlier I would have been there in person on May 11th to celebrate his amazing life with each of you. Ted coached both of my sons Dan and David in hockey. Both Dan and David have remained in contact with Kevin and Graham. I had the privilege of assisting Ted when he coached hockey. Ted's message to the players was always positive. He wanted his team to enjoy the game while playing to the best of their ability. I have no doubt that Ted carried all of his amazing coaching qualities into his practise as a physician. I cannot imagine the void left without Ted. I hope you will all find comfort in knowing that Ted will always be fondly remembered, and that his memory will be an inspiration to everyone that knew him.
Sincerely,
Max Blitt

I was shocked today to learn of the sudden loss of Dr. Elliott. His surgical skills and knowledge of prostate cancer have allowed me and many others to still be alive today. Having read the other tributes here attesting to his personal approach to patients and others,I must agree that I had the same enjoyable experiences with him. He has left behind a wonderful legacy.

I saw Dr. Elliot as a patient over 20 years ago as a child for a surgery. I have always remembered his ability to connect with me as a 9 or 10 year old and make sure that I understood exactly what was happening and I still remember the picture he drew to explain it. For the few months I saw him so many years ago he made a huge impression on my life. Condolences to his family.

I was a patient of Dr. Elliott's over the past 15 years or so and last saw him only two weeks prior to his passing. As always, I couldn't leave the hospital until he had touched base after surgery. He reviewed how everything went and discussed what would be undertaken next, etc. - always making sure I understood everything and that we were both on the same page. A very caring and considerate professional and I know the medical fraternity will miss his presence. My condolences to his family, I am so sorry he had to leave so soon.

I knew Ted profesionaly through mutual patients, but more so from Sunday night hockey. I never saw him without a huge smile and a kind, opimistic word for all after the game. He just struck me as a happy content person who was quietly proud of everything he had done and the people in his world without having to yell it out. What a loss for the world. My sincerest condolences,

To Bev and Family: It was with great sadness that I read about Ted's passing in the Edmonton Journal. I was a novice "Nurse Manager" on Unit 52 at the University Hospital in the years when Ted completed his residency. I will always remember what a great physician and person he was. He was sincere and kind with his patients and all who worked along side him. He was a star, and made everyone he came in contact with a better person. Now, over 28 years later, I still consider him the most talented and effective physician I have ever had the privilege to work with. ( I must not forget to mention, he was also one of the nicest!)
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this very, very sad time. Take care.
Sincerely
Rollie Romanchuk

I only knew Ted as a patient, but I was immediately impressed with his kindness, and concern for me. He was clear and pragmatic in my interactions with him, and his surgical work seemed flawless to me. I know I only see one side of him, and his family and friends see another, but I think he was a very special doctor, and he will be missed.

I was a huge fan of the Elliott family as we all grew up together in Edmonton in the sixties. I last saw Ted at the Ross Sheppard High School reunion earlier this year and I was reminded again of the contributions to medicine and the community made by this wonderful family. My condolences to you all . He was a wonderful man in the fullest sense of the word. Jim Dutton MD

It was with great sadness that I learned of Ted's death. I knew him as a kind, compassionate and skillful doctor who not only won the admiration of his patients but the respect and affection of his colleagues. I had the privilege of working with Ted and with his sister Nancy and brother Davis. Ted, and the remarkable Elliott clan, have contributed greatly to the well being of Albertans and we are all poorer by this loss. I will pray that Bev and family find peace in the love and affection of family and friends.
