Frederick J. Ramel Obituary
Frederick J. Ramel passed away on September 21, 2024 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He was born on June 24, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois.
He graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1960. He met his beloved wife Jean on a blind date in 1964 and they were married for almost 59 years. Fred worked 37 dedicated years at Jewel Osco grocery store and retired from a management position in 1995.
Fred was a "foodie" before it was trendy and he was always on the hunt for the best hot dogs in town. He enjoyed a good Manhattan and for many years loved snowmobiling in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Beloved husband of Jean (nee Sahn); loving father of Catherine (Thomas) Wiemann, Steven (Lauren) Ramel and Michael (Lynn) Ramel; cherished Papa to Timothy, Carolyn, Jason, Paige, Abigail and Taylor; dear brother-in-law of John (Linda) Sahn, adored cousin and uncle to 4 nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place from 3:00PM until 7:00PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00AM on Monday, September 30, 2024 with a visitation prior starting at 10:00am at St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church, 301 S I Oka Ave, Mt Prospect, IL 60056. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.
