Frederick William Jessee Frederick William Jessee, age 84 of the Springville community in North Tazewell, VA, died Sat., Nov. 6, 2010, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, WV. Born Dec. 14, 1925, in Cleveland, VA, he was a son of the late Kemper Jessee and Laurabell Jesse. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He joined the Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class, serving from Dec. 14, 1943 until Aug. 5, 1946 aboard the USS Cogswell DD651 and was honorably discharged as Seaman 1st class. He was employed by Leatherwood/Flav-o-rich dairies for 42 years. Mr. Jessee was a member of the Tazewell County Sportsman Club since 1956. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his sons, Cora Beatrice Altizer Jessee; one son, Benjamin C. Jessee; and two brothers, Clarance Jessee and John Jessee. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Meadows Jessee; two sons, Frederick A. Jessee and Kelly J. Jessee; five grandchildren, Kimberley Jessee, Alexandra Jessee, Benjamin Jessee, Mathew Jessee, and Autumn Jessee; two brothers, Walter Jessee and wife, Henry, and Eddie Jessee and wife, Juanita; one sister, Jane Hulla; three sisters-in-law, Betty Jessee, Virginia Jessee, and Linda Kinder and husband, Jack. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wed., Nov. 10, 2010 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA, with Elder Robert Whitt, Elder Willard Owens, and Pastor Walter Jessee officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA, where military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the Barns Beavers VFW Post # 7136 of Tazewell, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Tues., Nov. 9, 2010.
