Frederick (Mr. Fred) Charles Jung, Jr. died on May 10, 2015, at 97 years of age. He was predeceased by his treasured and dearly beloved wife, Rubye Alice Barbre Jung. He leaves two fondly loved and appreciated daughters, Stephenie Schuyler Pittman and Roberta Jo Schuyler McMahon, five grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Frederick Charles Jung, Sr. and Clara Alberta Cuevas. Also predeceased by brothers Julius Leo Jung, Dr. Rodney Clifton Jung, and sister Vivian Marguerite Jung. He was educated in New Orleans Public Schools and attended Tulane University. He was a member of many organizations, including Freemasonry where he served as Worshipful Master of David R. Graham Lodge No. 413, F&AM, Dual membership in Louisiana Lodge, 102 and Square and Compass Lodge 115, High Priest of Concord Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and as Deputy Grand High Priest of the District, Excellent Master of Council of Cryptic Masonry, Commander, Indivisible Friends Commandery and for outstanding service was awarded membership in the Honorary Society, York Knight Cross of Honor, Priory LA43. Served as President for three years of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. Served as President of George Washington Chapter, New Orleans and as President of the Louisiana Society, National Society Sons of the American Revolution. Related patriotic and genealogical memberships included First Families of Mississippi; Founders Chapter, Louisiana Colonials; Sommerset Chapter, Order of Magna Charta Barons; Plantagnet Society; Society of the Founders of the City of New Orleans; Los Islenos Heritage and Cultural Society; Sons of Confederate Veterans; German Genealogical Society of America. Contributing member Louisiana Bucket Brigade. Also Patron Member, National Rifle Association. of which a member since 1932 as a Junior member. Served several years as Reserve Deputy Sheriff under Civil Sheriff Paul Valteau which included three years as Secretary of Reserve Deputies Association (RDA). "Paw Paw" loved to do work with his hands making many beautiful pieces of woodwork and helping his grandchildren with numerous school projects. He loved working in his yard and was once asked to do a segment for a television station on how to care for caladiums. His cat and his parrot were the "loves" of his life and provided much joy to him. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the "angels" who were his sitters. They were "family" to us, and we love them dearly. A thank you also goes to the nurses at Canon Hospice. We couldn't have asked for better care for our dad. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation and funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Garden of Memories.
