Frederick William Kendall

I am so sad to find this obituary for Freddie! I met and adored him on our walks at the Bronte harbour. He was friendly and funny and interesting. He was cheeky and fun and expressive. I enjoyed his charm and wit very much. I will miss him so much. I wondered where he has been and found this today. Sending love to his family. I will really miss him.

Deepest sympathy to the family. I was lucky to work with Fred at CIBC Centre Mall, Hamilton. Many special memories.

Fred was my dad's (Bill Dorken) cousin, or second cousin once removed....I remember discussing that with him one time. Although I didn't see him often, I was always excited as a kid to know we would see him at a family function. He was the life of the party, the light of any room he entered. My kids only met him a few times, but also remember him with such warm thoughts.
He made me laugh at my dad's celebration of life. He walked up to me with a pointed finger and said, "I'm mad at your dad you know.....". Of course I had to ask why. "Because he beat me!!".
He was an inspiration, and definitely a legend.

I met Fred when he walked with the "Turtles" walking group at the Sir John Colborne Centre.
He was always a very enthusiastic participant and he will be missed by many.

I lived across the hall from Fred in a retirement home and found Fred such great company when we would meet in the hall. I miss him very much. Agnes Miller

I am sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was one of the regular patrons at the Beamsville library who became a friend. He was one of a kind. My sympathies to his family.

Fred was a shining light in Bronte. We would meet him almost daily on our morning walks along the lake, he called us his 3 "Angels". I would giggle when I would see his name come up on my phone, he'd always say "are you on the trail?" and we would coordinate where to meet him. Once, we had to intercept him and his walker as he found himself on a slight decline on the path and his walker was moving much faster than his little legs, the look on his face was priceless! But we were able to stop him, good thing we didn't have to fetch him from the lake! We all had a good belly laugh over it, then we left him with a stern warning to behave himself.
So many loving fond memories of our sweet, kind, inspirational and funny Fred.
You are greatly missed my friend... until we meet again. Love you!

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Worked with Fred at CIBC in Beamsville. Later also became one of his neighbours. Sailed with him a number of times generally with a bunch of ladies from work. The older gents at Fifty point could never figure out how he could get all those young ladies on his boat. It got to be quite a joke. I could tell many more stories both from working with him but also as a neighbour. He made most of us stop and evaluate our own lives because he lived life so fully. Rest In Peace Fred. You still make me laugh today with the memories

Fred was my first Manager at CIBC when I graduated the Officer in Training Program. He was a dedicated banker who was involved in his community and willing to teach a young man the details of banking. Our friendship lasted more than 40 years. He was a loyal and patient man and always had a wonderful sense of humour. I will miss our Merry Christmas calls and I will miss our spontaneous chats, but I know I was enriched by our discussions and blessed with his friendship. RIP Fred, until we talk again.....

I first met Fred when he joined our walking group, the Turtles. After a while when it became a bit to much for him he came and took the registration for us. We all enjoyed his company and his friendship and his love of life. I miss not seeing him at the Senior´s Centre
My condolences to his family

We are privileged to have called Fred our friend and brother in Christ. We enjoyed many visits over coffee and a quiz sheet at McDonalds with Fred. Loved having him over to our place and just hearing all about his incredible life. We are so thankful that God brought him to St. Hilda´s, and now Fred is in heaven on his greatest adventure ever. Love you Fred!
