Still remembering "Uncle Fred" who was my daughter Jainee's Godfather, and a good man. He was very much a part of our family, sharing Thanksgivings and Christmases with us when he didn't go home to Holyoke.

I met Fred in 1973 while we were both working at the Woods Hole Steamship Authority. We became quick friends and soon rented a house together in Falmouth. At the time, he was still shipping out on deep sea ships, and working part time at the ferry company. After a few years he settled down and started working full time. When I got married, Fred was home on leave from shipping out. He volunteered to drive the Limo for us. Later, Fred was asked, and he accepted, to be Godfather to my first daughter, Jainee. In fact, over the next many years he acted as a Godfather to all three daughters, often giving my wife Shelley a needed rest from he work as a nurse in the ER. Fred would pick up the girls (Jainee, Juli and Jenna) and take them to lunch or out to places that he knew would interest them. I am very sad to learn of Fred's passing. Shelley and I, and my daughters will miss him. We offer our condolences to his family.
