Sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Robinson. It was an honor to have met Mr. Robinson on his 90th birthday, May 18, 2011 by presenting him with a Certificate of Recognition from the Virginia State Firefighter's Association for his 47 years of service to the Richmond Fire Dept. In talking to family, and friends present, I knew he was an inspiration to everyone he met, and always had his faith in God.

We all lost a great pioneer and giant of a man when Mr. Robinson passed. Mr. Robinson was truly an inspiration to me over the years, his death has left a great void. May God's grace be upon the family.

I remember when I was a little girl and whenever Uncle Freddie would ride pass on the fire truck we would run and wave to him while he ( the fire truck) would drive by he always blew the horn. Uncle Freddie will be missed by many. And I know you will fit in just right in heaven with your sister and brother ( my mom, and Uncle Billy and your mom). God has taken care of you thus far and he will always, even in heaven. Your niece Judy Armstead Staples of Laurel Maryland.

Mr. Robinson was a symbol of strength, longivity, and courage. My grandfather Herbert Hill and my mother Edith Graves were close friends of Mr Robinson and they spoke highly of him. I remember the firefighter stories and what he had to endure during segregation times. Mr. Robinson was a true man of courage and I will miss him. Our lost is heaven's gain. Rest in the arms of God, Mr. Robinson.

Mr. Robinson's wisdom and his friendship will never leave my mind. He taught me more about firefighting and life, in general, than any other man in my life. I will always be grateful. He was a very good man and will be missed.

To the family of Fred Robinson. I was inspired with my first conversation with Fred in the early 1980's and my visit with him just a few week ago at Manor Care. We would talk about lawn mowers, GRTC and, of course, the bible. He will be truly missed by the Church Hill community. A Church Hill Resident

To The Robinson Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Robinson. My father and him were of the First Firefighters and friends. I remember Mr. Robinson to be a great man of God and always felt more proud having been is his company. He seemed pretty invincible but none of us are. He had a great life and leaves a great legacy. I am truly grateful to have made his acquaintance. Thank you for sharing your love one with so many. May the soul of the faithfully departed, rest in eternal life.
