GABRIELE MATTHEWS

Gabriele "Bobbie" Matthews Bobbie passed away peacefully in her home on July 20, 2010 in Naselle, WA. Bobbie was born in Frankfurt, Germany on January 23, 1949. She moved to Tacoma, Washington with her mother, Ruth, sister Karin and stepfather Henry when she was a teenager. She attended Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma where she graduated. She was married to her husband Gary, May 2, 1981. Bobbie gave birth to her twins Kaitlyn and Geoffrey on February 10, 1984. Bobbie was a big part of the construction industry in the Puyallup-Tacoma area. She helped to found a woman owned construction company in the 1980s and continued to work in the industry until 2007. She moved to Naselle, Washington with her husband in 2007. She volunteered her time in Naselle, as she always loved to help others. She will be missed very much by family, friends, and previous co-workers. She is survived by her husband Gary Matthews, children, Kaitlyn Matthews and Geoffrey Matthews, sister Karin (Jon) Ward; nieces, Kimberly Ward, Jennifer (Tom and Lucy) Bruce, and nephew Jason (Tishelle, Reese, and Payton) Ward, as well as many extended family. A memorial will be held Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Tacoma Fireman's Hall, 1109 South 50th Street, Tacoma, Washington at 1pm.
