Gail S. Bailey, 96, of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018.
Gail was born on April 22, 1921 in Bethlehem, PA to Herbert and Emily Sandberg. She married Thomas J. Bailey in September of 1943, and they had three children. She loved her family and friends and was beloved by all. Gail was a wonderful mom and made every place a warm and loving home full of laughter and hugs. She enjoyed the beach, the surf, swimming and diving at the pool, cooking for family and friends and special occasions. In 1967, her husband, Tommy became a Presbyterian minister, and she enjoyed each church they served.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Thomas J. Bailey; sister, Jean Sandberg; and daughter, Candy Bailey.
She is survived by her children, Dr. H. S. “Sandy” Bailey and his wife, Kathy Griffis-Bailey; Robyn Bailey Porch and her husband, Dr. Ed Porch; grandchildren, Captain Shawn T. Bailey (USN) and Carolina of Virginia Beach, VA, Heather Bailey of Albuquerque, NM, Rev. Trip Porch and Brittany of Granville, OH, Kara Porch and fiancée Matt Smith of Orlando, FL and Bailey Porch of Pensacola; great grandchildren, Sophia, Browen and Tekla Bailey and Ward Porch.
Visitation will be held 11:00am until a Funeral Cortege to depart at 11:30am Friday, January 26, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, for a Graveside Service at 12:00pm at Barrancas National Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 22 E. Gregory St., Pensacola, FL 32501 at 1:00pm with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
