Gail Clark Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2016.
Gail Ann Clark May 1950 July 2016 Gail Ann (Chubb) Clark was born in Seattle, Wash., to parents Herchel and Helen Chubb. As a small child she moved to Los Angeles and then to the high desert in Apple Valley, Calif., with her parents and two younger sisters. After completing high school, she attended U.C. Santa Cruz and graduated in 1974. While working on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif., she met and married her loving husband, Rodney Clark. She soon fulfilled her next plateau of happiness with the birth of her only child, Barrett Chubb Clark. Wherever their career paths led them, Gail's passion was to provide support and love for her son and husband. She did this selflessly, effortlessly and unconditionally throughout 37 years of marriage. Gail was an insatiable reader and active participant in her local book group. She had a quick wit, an easy smile, and a talent to make others laugh by telling a joke or humorous anecdote. She could be the carefree life of the party or a discerning, empathetic listener when adversity prevailed. She made friends easily, understood their value, and held onto them for life. Gail was a tireless lover of life even after the past several years of relentless illness. She remained gracious and beautiful to the core of her being. She is survived by her adoring husband Rod Clark, her cherished son, Barrett Clark; her sole-surviving, loving sister, Carol Chubb, of Cayucos, Calif., and her first cousin Robert Sucher and his son Bobby, of Los Angeles, Calif. Gail Ann Clark was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. Her loss will be profound for all who loved her. There will be a Celebration of her Life at 3:00pm on July 24, 2016, at Coalesce Chapel 845 Main Street, Morro Bay, Calif. Sign her guestbook at sanluisobispo.com/obituaries
