Gail H. Elmore

ELMORE, Gail H., Gail was unassuming, but a most admirable, genuine lady who always stood humbly in the background, with dignity and strength. She never sought, expected, or desired any credit for her constant loving kindness to so many. Her husband rightly adored her and knew she always "had his back," faithful and dedicated to him to her last breath. Her children and grandchildren were the fulfillment of her earthly life. Her love, encouragement, and example make each of them a blessing to their family, friends and communities. Each was taught by her to give rather than receive. Gail's faith was deep, abiding and absolute, all without show. She truly belonged to God. As an elementary school teacher, largely in underserved neighborhoods, Gail was loved by her young pupils as if she were a parent to them. Gail was a volunteer Sunday school teacher and Elder at her churches, an officer and member of the Virginia Home Board of Trustees and an officer of her Sorority alumnae chapter. She will be missed by her family more than can be expressed, but she will live on in their hearts and deeds. Her life here will continue to inspire all who knew her.
