Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 6, 2023.
Montierth, Gail Stewart was born on July 26th, 1932 in Safford, Arizona. She moved to her heavenly home on May 21st, 2023 after having a stroke. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Bill.

Gail was the daughter of the late David Jepson Stewart and Lurie Stewart. She graduated from Safford High School in 1950 and went to Eastern Arizona College. Gail married her high school sweetheart William "Bill" Gene Montierth on June 13th, 1951. They were happily married for 63 years and had 3 children Linda, Michelle and Mike. Gail worked for the Arizona House of Representatives and later had a successful career in real estate. During her retirement years, Gail was a member of the Hidden Valley Homeowners Association, the Lionesses Club and the Prescott Women's Club. Gail also volunteered for 14 years at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Gail loved to entertain; she was always planning parties and events for her friends and family. Gail and Bill loved to travel and took may cruises together. They were both members and served at the Prescott United Methodist Church.

Gail was dearly loved and cherished. She loved the Lord and was an incredibly strong woman, a beloved wife, mom, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend. Gail is survived by her daughters Linda and Michelle, and son Mike (Lisa), 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grand children. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Church at Arrowhead at 7902 W. Union Hills Drive, in Glendale, AZ on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at 10:00am.

Gail and I were friends for several years. We attended many Police Award banquets together as Bill and I both volunteered for the local police .
When Bill and Gordon both passed away we attended grief counseling together and always had lunch after wards. When grief counseling was finished we still remained very close and met at least once a month for lunch with two other friends. Bill and Gail loved cruising as did Gordon and I. We especially loved the dancing. When Gordon passed Gail told me we shall all dance again. I hope she and Bill are dancing and I know that I will join them and Gordon when the time comes. Goodby dear friend until we meet again.

This sweet bird blessed my life for the last 3 years. Most people don´t make new friends so late in life, but Gail proved that people can connect and care at any age. Gail was clever and entertaining and funny and witty, sharp and easy to talk to and just made me feel loved. I certainly loved her. Fly sweet bird, glad you landed in my life for a bit.
