In Loving Memory of Gail Norkus

Gail Norkus, 80, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Gail's childhood memories include growing up on her family farm in Freehold with her brother, Richard, and parents, Jeannette and Irving Frankle.

Gail was a loving and devoted wife, proud mother of three, grandmother to nine, and great-grandmother to one. Her life was centered around her family, and nothing made her happier than being with them. She loved hosting gatherings, including her cherished Sunday dinners, and always made sure her family was cared for. Gail enjoyed vacationing in the islands, time at the beach, and taking mile-long walks on the boardwalk. Her faith was also a big part of her life. Gail was an active member of her church community and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Gail worked part-time as a home health aide before deciding to go back to school to become a dental assistant. She worked for many years with Dr. Richard Lolla at Cedar Bridge Dental from 1988 to 1998, then with Dr. Anna Folenta for 11 years. After retiring in 2009 at age 64, Gail continued to help in local dental offices as a temp for another two years. She even became an Uber driver-not just for the work, but because she enjoyed meeting new people and having good conversations.

Gail was predeceased by her beloved husband and High School sweetheart, David Norkus; her mother and father; and her brother. She is survived by her three children-Brian, Donna, and Scott; her nine grandchildren-Ben, Matthew and his wife Megan, Tyler, Julia, Alyssa, Colin, Abigail, Amanda, and Brenna; and her great-grandson, Wesley, who brought her so much joy.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Church in Point Pleasant Beach on June 20, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., for those who would like to pay tribute.
