Gail O'Neill

Gail meant everything to me as a young teenager in the 80´s who was obsessed with fashion magazines and beauty to see her face, was seeing me, was seeing beauty represented as a Black Woman was everything, I purchased every magazine I saw her in, mostly Elle and Mademoiselle, and remember seeing her sister model as well , both beautiful! representation matters, so saddened that this has happened, she will always be an inspiration to me!

Please accept my sincere condolences to the O'Neill Family, many, many friends, colleagues and fans for your beloved one Gail O'Neill, gone too soon. Gail O'Neill was a top fashion model who debuted in the 1980s and became one of the original correspondents for "The Early Show" on CBS. There is no greater pain there could be than losing someone you love, especially when it is unexpected. May the love and the special memory you shared with her show just how much your life was touched by her. May the God of all comfort who is the hearer of prayers be with you in your time of need with his loving kindness and peace as He strengthens you to cope during this difficult time. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. So, treasure that memory. May family, friends and extended family cherish her memories.

I remember seeing your photos in magazines when I was a teen and all I could think about was how breathtakingly beautiful you were. You gave me the confidence to be strong and beautiful in my own right. You beautiful soul, may God welcome you into the kingdom of heaven and give you the most beautiful wings. One of my many memories shared w/ Gail was the love of art & our long conversations that always ends devolving around our love of family.
Her compassion for all was immeasurably.
Her loss will be missed by many.

Ms.O´Neil was the combination of beauty and brains. She was a beautiful model but also an intelligent and articulate news correspondent. So sorry to hear of her passing. Prayers and condolences to the O´Neill family.

I knew Gail because I was her Dental Hygienist. She had the most beautiful smile and so much warmth that came from it. She was so beautiful inside and out. I will truly miss treating her. Everyone at our office loved her.

I met Gail in a yoga class. We we´re extremely close friends. My heart is breaking.

I remember being in middle school and looking through all the fashion magazines in the store. When I got to ELLE Magazine, Gail was so gorgeous and brown! Her beautiful face jumped off the cover! Even in the early 90's there wasn't that much representation for girls of color. It was sooo refreshing to see her! I still have that magazine 30 years later. She had the brains and beauty that inspired me and I will always cherish her contributions to this world. My deepest condolences go out to her family and friends. Heartbroken Fan- Freddi Vernell
