Gail Tessier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 22, 2025.
Waterbury - Mrs. Gail Ann Tessier, 78, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, in Waterbury, Vermont.

Born on February 28, 1947, in Medford, Massachusetts, Gail was the daughter of John and Jeanette Batcheller. She graduated from Woburn High School in 1964 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education. She later completed a Master's of Education with a specialization in Learning Disabilities.

Gail dedicated thirty-five years to teaching in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She began her career at the T. A. Greene School and concluded it at the A. J. Gomes School. Her classrooms were filled with creativity and care, often enriched by her passion for arts and crafts, which she used to inspire and engage her students.

She shared fifty-four years of marriage with her husband Wayne and together they raised two daughters, Nicole and Lauren. Gail took great joy in being a grandmother to Winry, Milo, and Nolan. She is also survived by her youngest sibling, George. Her gentle caring spirit and creative energy brought warmth and empathy to everyone she met.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Jeanette (Huot) Batcheller, as well as her siblings John and Irene.

Her love for arts and crafts extended beyond the classroom. Whether crafting something new or adding a personal touch to the everyday, Gail approached each project with enthusiasm and care.

She loved baking and candy making, especially around the holidays! Gail was an animal lover, adopting her furry companion and beloved cat, Sassy. She was always a voracious reader, always enjoying a historical novel. In her later years she dabbled with raising orchids.

A private memorial service was held in Waterbury, Vermont.

Though she is no longer with us, Gail's memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. May her legacy continue to inspire kindness, creativity, and dedication.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society & Shelter Southcoast, 31 Ventura Drive, Dartmouth, MA 02740.
