Gareth RANKIN Obituary
Gareth passed away peacefully after a yearlong battle with skin cancer on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the age of 49 years. He was predeceased by his father Delmer. Gareth will be lovingly remembered by his wife Karen; children Alexaundria and Zachary; mother Gladys; siblings Rick (Barb), Cheryl, Brian (Cheryl), Wayne (Linda), Daryl (Jenette), Claude, Brent (Sandy), Kevin (Lorraine) and Kim (Sherry); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Thank you to Dr. Tse, Dr. Johnson and all the nurses of homecare, Regina General Hospital, Palliative Care for their compassionate care. As well as all of Gareth's family for their support, Karen's parents Bill and Gloria Dixon and family. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Lumsden Ball Park, 7th Avenue, Lumsden, SK, weather permitting or Lumsden Sports Center, 70 3rd Avenue, Lumsden, SK on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

I'm sorry I missed the gathering at the park on Saturday, I did not hear until Sunday. Gareth was a fun-loving, great sense of humour kinda guy. His 'rendition' of an old car horn was priceless. Sometimes at the most inopportune times, but that was the fun of it. Being the youngest of the Rankin clan, and the first to leave, I can't imagine the sense of loss and sorrow you all must feel. My condolences to the entire Rankin family.
