Garnet M. Reid, 86, of Westgate, Iowa died Wednesday morning, October 30, 2013 at Arlington Place Assisted Living in Oelwein, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Westgate, Iowa with Rev. Herbert C. Mueller III officiating.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.
Interment: St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Westgate, Iowa.

A Memorial Fund has been established in her name.

Garnet Mae Nauholz was born May 8, 1927 in Westgate, Iowa the daughter of Herman and Clara (Bartz) Nauholz. She graduated from Maynard High School in Maynard, Iowa. On September 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to Clair Wagner Reid at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate, Iowa. Garnet was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Garnet is survived by her husband, Clair;
daughters, Sandra (Thomas) Glumac of Davenport, Florida,
Patricia (Robert) McSweeny of Maynard, Iowa and
Denise (Stuart) Sliter of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin;
6 grandchildren, Reid Lander,
Alicia Lander,
Sarah McSweeny,
Lucas McSweeny,
Lynn (Jason) Demaray and
Erin (Patrick) Beidle;
2 great grandchildren, McKenna and Cashton Demaray;
sister, Margaret Johns (Pat Patterson) of North Highlands, California;
brother, Don (Shirley) Nauholz of Westgate, Iowa;
sister-in-law, Alyce Reid of Waterloo, Iowa;
and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Connie; brother, Carl Nauholz and sister-in-law, Margie Nauholz; and 2 brothers-in-law, Roy Johns and Robert Reid.
