I'm in shock to find out my Fidele Umbrelli has run his race. We worked together years ago here in Nashville and every morning he'd have my coffee on my desk. Every year on my Birthday he would call and sing to me. Garry was such a sweet friend. He will be missed. Prayers for the family.

So sorry to hear of Cappos passing. We were friends many years ago and unfortunately lost touch through the years. He was truly one of the good guys. RIP my friend until we meet again.....

I worked with Cappo in the early 80s at WTOF in Canton. We had so much fun and laughs. We stayed in touch when I found him in Nashville. I still think of him everyday and can't believe he's gone. I see things in everyday life and know what he would say. So un expected. I miss him. Hugs to his wife Melissa...such a loss for everyone...Missy (Janette Keblesh)

My uncle. One of my inspirations to become a musician. I'll miss his input on my music and performances. I share the grieving of my father, John, and the rest of the family. Love you uncle Garry.

I have been fortunate through out my 80 years of life to have five brothers that I respected and loved, and Cappo was one.
He was always there for me on my visits to Nashville. We had a tremendous amount of laughs!
I once commented that I liked the shirt he was wearing and before I left Nashville, he gave me the shirt.
God, will I miss him.
Roe, if you read this, please call me.

I never met Garry, but was good friends with his sister Ro. Sympathy to his entire family. They leave a hole that can never be filled.

I knew Gary all through Jr and Sr High School. We both had bands, that started around the 9th grade and often would be the last two in the competition, and of course with his voice he kicked out backsides everytime. I used to watch adults stop what they were doing to listen to him sing, one of the favorites he always got asked to do was This Boy, and no one, ever sang it better. I'm sure his card is already full now that he's part of the Rock n Roll heavn, and we'll see him again someday. RIP my friend, your battle is over and your race is won, Tim Fleming Class of 67 South High School, Cleveland OH

Cappo had the best sense of humour and was never afraid to be spontaneously silly. One of my favourite memories of my dear friend. You will be missed. I love you Cappo thank you for so many good times rest in peace.

I don't have enough words or time to express what Garry meant to me. Yes, he helped me land a radio news job at WSLR in Akron, OH back in the early 1980's. But his influence on me runs much deeper than any job he helped me get. He was a source of laughter, great vibes, amazing stories and a friendship like no other I've had before or since. He was a selfless and thoughtful man, the kindest man I've ever known. We worked together at the former WNYN Radio in Canton, Ohio which he used to refer to as 'a house with two turntables!' That's exactly what it was! In May, 1990, Garry was the Best Man in my wedding. Even when we were miles apart, there was always a phone call, or a letter, and later text messages just to see how I was doing, or to wish me a Merry Christmas. And he never forgot my birthday! He ended every phone conversation telling me he loved me and said God Bless You, Ben! Well, God Bless You, Cappo! Till we meet again my dear friend!
