We all thought a great deal of Gary my family got to know him through his trimming business and over the years we all become good friends, one-off my fondest memories was when he invited me to co/drive with him in his Jaguar to the F1 Grand Prix in South Australia he covered all the costs for me for going with him and refused any payment offered.
Other than for crazy weather’ there was about five climates in each day which totally buggered his golfing plans most days.
I never got to know his wife and family that well other than quick hello’s when we met when I called in to his home.
He was very well liked and respected both in his business and personal levels.
I was really taken back as was a lot of people when we heard he was ill. I called in to his home to see him twice but was told he wasn’t well enough to have visitors, I believe shortly there after the house was sold and he was moved to a more suitable location.
I was never privy to what become of his business or his ongoing health condition I was very sad that I could never visit him and could never obtain information on his health.
I only found out of his passing when I saw a chap in Penrith Plaza on Saturday the 5/12/20 wearing a black Boss trim T shirt and asked him where the business is and how is Gary.
The chap told me he hadn’t known of Boss trim when he commenced the business but informed me that he believed the previous owner had passed away sometime back.
When I informed my wife of his passing she was very sad. I have yet to inform my son Paul who had his car at Boss trim for months having it re- trimmed by Gary He will be told of Gary’s passing today, he was only a kid in his first job when He took his HT Holden to Boss trim for a complete Re-trim these days he is 50 years of age....How time flies.
Our saddest condolences to the Shelton family....it is with a very heavy heart and tears falling that I pass these words on to his family.
Gary has been very sadly missed over the years, and although late we pass on our most sincere condolences to his entire Family.
