Deborah and family, I was saddened to hear the news about Gary. He was my first Clinical Supervisor after becoming a counselor at TR Havins, although we both had common experiences at Summer Sky. I always held him in high regard in the field but I also had so much gratitude for his leadership and guidance for me in my own personal life. He was a mentor and a fine man. Please know that you are all in my prayers for comfort and I regret I am not there in person to share a story, laugh and remember him with you during this time. I do recall when I first started at Havins the CMS Key Program allowed for clients to confront staff during Encounter and during one of my first group observations, Gary had told me how to "role model" an encounter. I can't even recall what the topic or who it was but as the client was "reading Gary the right act" I could see Gary getting a little tense, then turning bright read and finally he shut the encounter down, said some choice words to the client about how "throwed off" his perception was and got up and walked out of the dorm. I was brand new, never worked in a TC before and I didn't know what to think but I followed Gary out of the group and told them that what ever Gary had said I agreed with! He was truly committed to the cause, though, and I know how very much he loved his family. I will miss him but have hope that I will meet him on the other side in God's Glory.

I remember Gary very well. Even in our very young years in Sherman. We lived close to each other as I resided @ Hunt Street and Grant. Can not recall when I saw Gary last. My prayers are with each of you at you time of loss.
