Please accept my belated condolences. I recently heard about Gary's passing. Gary and I went through jump school together at Ft. Benning, GA. We were assigned and served together in the same mortar platoon with the 82nd Airborne Division. I will always have fond memories of Gary both as a fellow soldier and a dear friend.

When we did not see Shasta at Courtesy Sporting Goods, we were devastated to hear of Gary's passing. We had been
out of town for weeks due to my mother's illness and passing. Gary was such a kind and helpful person with a great sense of humor, and he is very much missed by all who knew him. It is good to know that his little buddy Shasta still has a home with Gary's friends at Courtesy and no doubt will always be a part of their family, just as Gary was. May God bless his family and friends and also comfort them with the wonderful memories they share of Gary.

I knew Gary for almost 30 years meeting him at the Grand Canyon. We remained friends for the rest of his life. I just learned that he died and feel so sorry that I never really told him how much he mattered to me. So if you are out there Gary please read this. I love you.

Just learned this sad news. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Gary and I served together in the 82nd Airborne Div.
Then both of us went on into careers in law enforcement and as trainers for same. We kept in touch over the years exchanging training ideas and events we encountered. R.I.P. old friend and may all your landings be soft ones.

Gary was a great law enforcement officer and a good friend. We worked together in Az. in US Customs for a couple of years in the late 80's and we were friends ever since. He was a real hard worker and had little use for many officers in some of the agencies he worked for that were lazy or incompetent. Customs and the Park service had a great cop! Having Gary and Shasta (and Tika)stay with us many times in Tx. and Az. was great. He will be missed. Craig & Patricia Mecke , Magdalena ,NM.
