Gary Lynn Clay HURST--Gary Lynn Clay passed away quietly on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, after a long illness. He was a beloved gentleman who leaves behind many grieving family and friends. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Relatives and friends are invited to a simple graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Signs will be posted inside the memorial park to mark the way to the service. Gary Clay was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Big Spring, Texas, to his parents, Aubrey and Louise Clay. He graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth along with his future wife and childhood sweetheart, Linda Hotchkiss, who he married on Sept. 6, 1957, and with whom he had two children. He enlisted in the Army and served in Korea from 1959 to 1961. He worked at General Motors until retiring. Gary was a member of the Fort Worth Thunderbirds Club and built and flew radio-controlled airplanes throughout his life. He liked working on cars and motorcycles, was a fan of the Texas Longhorns, the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing. He loved to fish for black bass. Gary Clay was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Carol. SURVIVORS: Gary is survived by his sister, Frances Williams; his son, Robin Clay and his wife, Linda Alicia; his daughter, Turia Niekamp and her husband, Joseph; his grandchildren, Jeremy and Ian Clay, Erin Elise Lofties, Patrick Williams; and great-grandchildren, Story and Pepper Clay.
