COLLINS ADVANCE ~ Gary Lee Collins Mar. 13, 1948 ~ Dec. 9, 2011 Mr. Gary Lee Collins, 63, of Advance passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1948 in Surry County to Grady Lee and Evelyn Adams Collins. Mr. Collins was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a Bible Fellowship teacher. He was a third generation builder and a member of the Home Builders Association. He was a loving husband, father and "Paw Paw". He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Collins; two sons, Andy Collins and wife Shannon of Advance and David Collins and wife Samantha of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Justin, Avery, Gray and Jackson Collins; a brother, Mike Collins and wife Paula of Dobson; two sisters, Judy Bell and husband John of Lewisville and Carolyn Simmons and husband Zack of Yadkinville and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. A Graveside Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Golden Rd. Cemetery in State Road, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
