Gary Duncan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 15, 2025.
Gary Wayne Duncan died Monday, July 14 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Gary was born in Charlotte, NC on August 1, 1945 to the late Ellis and Edith Duncan, and his big brother Dennis. Gary graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and married his sweetheart Diane Duncan on August 2, 1963.

Gary worked at Bethlehem Steel for almost 20 years and was an avid member of his hunting club. He was "happiest up in a tree."

Gary was a devout family man who enjoyed sports, fishing, and cheering on his favorite teams - forever donning his Carolina Panthers sweatshirt with a cap resting on top of his head. But nothing gave him more joy than doting on his wife Diane, who was his whole world. He leaves behind a legacy of endless wisecracking, unwavering stubbornness, and a deep love and loyal support of his family and friends.

Gary is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 62 years, Diane, and their children Randy and Cheryl, and husband Roger Davis, sister-in-law Judy and and brother-in-law Wayne, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, niece, great-niece.

Gary is reunited in peace with his parents Ellis and Edith, his brother Dennis, his parents-in-law Ivan and Leona, his sister-in-law Eulalia and his nephew Daren.
