Gary Edgell Obituary

Gary Edward Edgell, 59, of Fairmont, passed away early Saturday morning (Sept. 26, 2009).He was born in Fairmont on Aug. 23, 1950, the son of Doak Edgell and the late Betty Jean Edgell.He is survived by his son, Jeremy Edgell and his wife Brandi, and their children, Hunter Jay, Gunner Lee and Bria Lynn, of Romney; his granddaughter, Danielle Brooke Loane of Ohio; and his daughter, Jamie Edgell and companion Alex of Fairmont and their mother Karen.Other survivors include brothers, Dennis Edgell of Waynesburg, Pa., and the late Stephen Edgell of Fairmont; and two sisters, Pam Morocco of Texas and Darlene Ford of Waynesburg.Gary was an electrician in the coal mines. He also enjoyed sports and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers and Mountaineer fan. In his later years, he loved watching "Shepherd's Chapel" while studying the Bible.A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Trinity Assembly of God in Fairmont. In accordance with Gary's wishes, he was cremated.In lieu of flowers, Gary has requested to have donations made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.Condolences may be e-mailed to [email protected].

Darlene, I am sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I remember him coming down to Dick's Drive Inn with Rick, Bub , Jack and Tom and us all talking. I will keep you in my prayers.
