I still think about Gary all the time and everything he taught me about understanding how a bureaucracy works, thinks, and feels. He had a very special gift in comprehending complex organizations -- absolutely amazing.

To the Federici family,
As a co-worker with Dr. Federici since 2004 I found him to be a great man to work with and for. He always treated me with a great deal of respect and was a great listener as well as a person who took action on great things for the Navy and Marine Corps. I keep you all in my prayers and I will miss him.

Dear Mrs. Federici,

While I'm stunned and saddened to hear of Gary's passing, I'm not surprised by the admirable recollections of his friends and colleagues. Gary's soft spoken, level headed gentleman demeanor was a good balance to my mostly mischievous adolescence. His youthful respect of his elders, and those around him, was one of many traits easily recognized by those who knew him. "Feather", as he was affectionately known by his teenage friends, could be relied on for good decisions, which obviously, continued on throughout his life. Take comfort in knowing through Gary's efforts and accomplishments, he made positive impacts in those lives he touched.

To the family of Gary Federici,
Please know that while he was a fantastic scientist, he was also a wonderful person and worked hard to make things better for our men and women in the Military. He will be greatly missed but much admired.
Condolences to the family.

Diana, Bernice and all of Gary's family, I was shocked and deeply saddened hearing of Gary's passing. I hope you find peace in his memory. He certainly brightened my life, prior to persuit of his dream to serve, be of service and make this world a better place. Mission accomplished my friend, you will be remembered warmly. On December 26th, I will be at Pearl Harbor, with a retired Navy officer. I will make every effort to place a lei there, in honor of Gary's service to our country and the Navy. Rest in Peace Gary and Thank-you for your dedication to our country. Aloha and a hui ho (til we meet again), Suzanne Cleveland

Our nation is more secure and our Navy more prepared because of Gary's life long contributions. As a Naval Intelligence Officer I benefited directly from the ISR/Space capabilities Gary was instrumental in fielding, but more importantly I got to know him as a colleague. Smart, hard working, friendly, honest, and always sincere. Gary will be greatly missed joe mazzafro

I will always remember Gary--for his humor, love of life, the twinkle in his eye. He was a unique individual.

One of my fondest memories of Gary was in Naples, Italy--I was there on a temporary work assignment and Gary was stationed there. The city seemed to suit him.

Ciao!

Gary mentored a small army of defense thinkers over the years, to include myself. He was an eminently kind and generous soul, and one of the smartest minds I've ever encountered. I feel most blessed by my time with him.
