Gary and I were classmates in the USNA 1959 Terrible Tenth Company. He was a hero who represented the finest traditions of the Academy and the Air Force. I hope to attend the services at Arlington. Please keep us informed about the Services.

Gary was one of the happiest men I ever knew. It was a joy to have him serve our church in so many ways. I am sure there is rejoicing in heaven to have his smile and laughter present with the Lord.

My deepest Sympathy to your families. Gary was one of a kind. I knew him and Jeri and Jeanne through St Andrew´s by the Sea Methodist church. The pictures depict that great smile. I got Gary to reluctantly join the San Clemente VFW when I was Commander. He joined but told me he could never attend the meetings but he loved his country and respected the military. I never knew his military career. He kept that time closed. He was Remarkable and loving man Dee Padgett

Today we mourn the loss of a remarkable brother in arms, a courageous fighter pilot, a dedicated officer, and an inspiring leader, and above all my friend. His unswerving commitment to duty and his genuine kindness left an indelible mark on all of us. In all undertakings he showed exceptional bravery and dedication, yet it was the spirit and camaraderie that truly set him apart. His laugh, his stories, and his unwavering support will be deeply missed. As we honor his memory, let us carry forward his legacy of courage, integrity, and friendship. Rest in peace my friend, we will always remember you.

We will never forget all the wonderful times with the extended Findlay families. My dad always thought of Gary as the son he didn´t have and gave him lots of support/advice during his time at USNA. I will never forget attending his graduation! He and Jerry Bea even took this wide eyed 12 yo to the RING DANCE! Our families were very close during the time we all lived in Escondido. I babysat for their 3 precious children. Later Bruce and Lisa were ring bearer and flower girl in our wedding. That was 57 years ago! The special memories of time with our extended families are so precious and bring such comfort during difficult times. We love you Gary and will miss you. Know that you are now at peace.
