Gary Flynn Obituary
Throughout his 75 years, Gary's life was marked by service professionally, but most importantly, personally. As well as serving our country in the United States Marine Corps, he served with distinction as an officer for 28 years with the Seattle, WA Police Department. He married Cynthia Kam on July 16, 1988. They moved to Chehalis in 1994 and built a new home. Then in 2005 they relocated to Prescott, AZ, where they built another new home together.
To those family members, friends and neighbors who have had the privilege of knowing Gary on a personal level, his good deeds and kind heart left the most significant and long lasting impression. Over the years, he gave of his time, energy and support so generously and willingly in ways too many to mention. Gary's passing surely leaves a deep void, and he will be sorely missed.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife Cynthia, his brothers, John P., David and his family, and Paul.
A service was held on May 14, 2010 in Prescott with full military honors.

Speaking for the classmates of St Johns's grade school we're so sorry for your loss Cynthia.
Gary is remembered with fond memories of grade school days. He always had a happy smile and was friendly with all the classmates. It was a pleasure to see him whenever he came to our reunions.

I'm so sorry for your loss Cynthia. We are so fond of you and Gary. I'm sure he is happy with Ben and Lady. Hope you can stay in touch with us and visit sometime. I bet he is visiting with my father Roy in heaven. Love, Dorothy, Sheila, John and Nikkolena.

Whenever I think of Gary, this treasured scene springs to mind:
In the those days before television we would sing from the text on the piano rolls of the Flynn family player piano while Gary pumped the pedals. A fondly remembered moment of simpler times thanks to Gary.

I worked with Gary at the Seattle Police Department in the 1970s. We served together for a couple of years in the media affairs unit. Gary always had a smile and he served with distinction, often under difficult circumstances when he was the department's media spokesperson. Gary was a friend and trusted colleague. Rest in peace, Gary.
