Gary Hutson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 22 to Aug. 26, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Hutson, who left us on August 15, 2023 at the age of 77. He was born on November 26, 1945, and his journey came to an end on the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship off the coast of Alaska.

Gary grew up in Vancouver, Washington, and attended Hudson Bay High School and Clark College. For many years he worked in the finance industry in a role that took him and his family to live all over Oregon. Gary concluded his career working with his wife, Claudia, at Belmont Academy, where his job came with the perk of spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Claudia (Stuhr) Hutson, son Robb, daughter Kim, daughter-in-law Jill, and grandchildren Mak, Tyler, Rowen, and Kierin.

Gary will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, warmth, and sense of humor touched the lives of many.

In addition to being a father and grandfather, Gary had a love for supporting and cheering for his children and grandchildren in everything they did. From sports to concerts to high school plays, Gary would not miss an event. We would be remiss not to mention his love for the Oregon Ducks. Some of his favorite times were spent watching football games with the family on Saturdays every fall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Belmont Academy. https://everloved.com/life-of/gary-hutson/

A celebration of life, by invitation only, will be held in the fall.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.

May Gary rest in peace, forever in our hearts and memories.

I worked with Gary for many years in the finance industry. He was one for the books, always made me laugh, even though most of the humor was not appropriate. It was part of who he was, he loved Claudia which I had met her on several occassions. When he spoke about Claudia you knew they were soul mates, my heart goes out to all of those who loved him.

RIP Gary, you left a wonderful memory in my life
