Gary Lyon Obituary
Hillview - Mr. Gary "Dale" Lyon, age 62, of Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on January 3, 2020. Mr. Lyon was born to the late Leslie Louie and Nelda Lavene Lyon on July 6, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was Church of Christ by faith and a retired metal worker for Cardinal Aluminum. Mr. Lyon will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Steven Wayne Lyon and brothers-in-law, Charlie Hampton and Kevin Daugherty.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Ginger Elieen Staples; grandson, Ashton Cole Staples, siblings, Belinda Hampton, Leslie Leon Lyon (JoAnn), Michael "Pops" Lyon (Elaine), Clyde Lee Lyon, Lesa Duel Vittitow, Terry Earl Lyon (Darby), and Lorraine Daugherty; aunts and uncles, Wanda Meriwether (Leon), Wayne Cary, Brenda Gillentine (Robert) and Hollis Ray Cary (Joyce); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; a long time family member and caregiver, Sharon Lyon; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 1:00 till 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
