In Loving Memory of Gary Earl Randel

March 7, 1947 - March 30, 2025

Gary Earl Randel passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, at the age of 78 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on March 7, 1947, in Baldwin City, Kansas, Gary lived a life full of curiosity, generosity, and adventure. In 1969, he began a long and fulfilling career with Western Electric, staying through the company's many evolutions until his retirement in 2001.

Gary shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathryn Anne Randel.

He is survived by Kathy; his daughter, Brandy Randel Hastings; his son-in-law, Shawn Hastings; and his treasured granddaughter, Miriam Kathryn Hastings, who brought him endless joy.

From 1984 to 2017, Gary and Kathy made their home in Orlando, Florida. In 1998, they moved to Singapore for three years, exploring much of Asia together-an adventure that became one of the great joys of their lives. In 2017, they moved to Minneapolis to be closer to their family.

Gary was a passionate SCUBA diver, a skilled pool player, and an avid world traveler. He had a sharp mind, a gentle heart, and a wonderful sense of humor. Above all, he was a devoted husband, a fantastic father, and an adoring grandfather.
