Gary Steven Robbins passed away December 4, 2022

Gary passed away 6 days shy of his 73rd birthday, but he lived a full life. His favorite quote was "Live long and prosper" from Spock of Star Trek.

After growing up in the Dallas and Houston areas, Gary earned an Associate's Degree in Medical Office Management from University of Houston. He was a member of Alpha Phi Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He served on the USS John F. Kennedy while serving in the Navy and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. He eventually retired from Texas A&M.

Gary was a member of Brazos Valley Art League and showed paintings at First Friday in Downtown Bryan where he won many awards. He was a NAVI Master Scuba Diver, NSS–CDS Cavern Diver, IDEA Nitros Diver, PADI Rescue Diver, and PADI Equipment Specialist. He loved reading about Texas history, art, and scuba diving, and was a member of the Institute of Archaeology. His mentors included John Wayne; George Mann, A&M College of Architecture; and the artist, Vincent Van Gogh.

He loved to joke and tell stories about scuba diving for the Navy. He cherished the cruise to the Caribbean with his wife, as well as their trips to San Marcos, Hill, and Galveston. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas and an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. But, there were two very outstanding days in Gary's life – the day he met Betty at a Catholic Singles dinner, never dating another, and the day he married her on the banks of the San Marcos River.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Winston Robbins and Mary Lois Thomas Robbins; and his brother, David Robbins.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 20 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Robbins; his son, Christopher Robbins of Houston, Texas; and Milo, the poodle, who was like a son.

A Rosary will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10:00 am to be immediately followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 401 S. Parker, Bryan Texas 77803.
