My second big brother. My very first crush. The single nicest person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Death does not diminish our love for you. And it can never erase that path between our back doors. Peggy is right. How blessed our growing up was. You will always be loved and always be missed.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to Sandy, Kim, Mark and the grandchildren. Sandy and I met at University of Memphis in the College of Education. Shortly after Sandy and I became friends, I had the pleasure in meeting Gary. The one thing Gary and I had in common was December birthdays. Gary was a nice gentle man. When I visited Sandy and Gary in Paris, he was so welcoming and treated me as though as I was a part of his family. He will be missed by his family and friends. Rest in Peace Gary

Gary had a very accessible personality and was very comfortable as he negotiated life. I knew him briefly as a neighbor and remember mostly his derby hat from OSU. I live nearby and look forward to reconnecting with his siblings at the service.

So sorry Diane and the Swinger family! We all grew up together in Benton and in the Methodist Church in Benton! Gary was such an outgoing guy and always knew you even if he had not seen you in a few years! Love and prayers to all of you in this time of sorrow! Kay Dennis Knight (Benton, Missouri)

Our family was blessed to have a very special neighborhood with the Swinger family being close. My brother, David, was especially blessed to have a life-long friendship with Gary. The events and adventures they shared are treasured memories. From childhood to MYF youth group into adult life, they shared a unique bond. Gary was truly a devoted and caring friend. Heartfelt sympathy to the Swinger family. God Bless On behalf of the Porter family formerly of Benton, Mo.

Gary would go out of his way to help his friends and family. He and Sandra have been truly great friends to David Porter's family. When I needed strength to get through a very difficult time, Gary was like a rock. I will miss you dear friend!
Condolences to all his beloved family!

Gary was a fine honorable man whom I became friends with long after our Kelly High School Benton MO days and whom I rediscovered at FedEx when while I worked there he passed by me one day and I went chasing him down the hall to greet him. We had high school in common :) Larry and I loved his friendly stop-by visits with us when he would travel to his Benton-home area.
Condolences to his family. He was dearly loved by many.
