 On Saturday, September 9, 2023, Gary Wayne Ward of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully with family by his side. Beloved husband of 48 years to Mary L. Ward; loving father of Brian W. Ward and his wife, Heather Ridolfo, Jessica M. Dove and her husband, Billy and Timothy M. Ward; devoted grandfather of Merin, Kara and Donovan; dear brother of Roger, Benny and Mark Ward, Shirley Deluca, Bonnie O’Sullivan, Gail Cox, Doris Haskell and Peggy Masing. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Nicely M. and Eugene W. Ward.

Gary Wayne was born in Baltimore and grew up around the Inner Harbor. He attended Baltimore City College and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from the University of Baltimore. He worked in the field of Information Technology at Allfirst Bank (now M & T Bank) for 24 years and then at GEICO for 15 years. 

Gary was a sports enthusiast and a big Orioles and Ravens fan. He played sports in Little League, high school, and later on recreational teams. He also coached numerous teams in baseball, soccer, and basketball for his children. 

More than anything, Gary loved his family. He was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Gary had a way of making the most out of things and making things more fun for everyone around him. He encouraged his family and friends to treat all people with respect, take pleasure in the little things, and enjoy life.

       Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue, SW, (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 7438 Baltimore & Annapolis Blvd, Glen Burnie, Md 21061 at 10:00am. Graveside Service and Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, MD. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
