My first memory of Gary was when he came to me and offered me his comp days because I was having surgery and would be out of work for 6 weeks. I didn“t really know him well then but we worked at the airline together. He and Barbara moved me in and out of Nashville 6 times even during a blizzard. He worked on my car whenever I needed him, helped me when I purchased my first home fixing things and painting walls. He was a quiet man with a big heart. My heart goes out to Barbara and the family definitely gone too soon!

Gary and Barbara hold a special place in my heart. Barbara lived directly across the street from us and I always marveled at how hard working she was. In the late 70's I watched Gary as he worked for ASI fueling our aircraft and marveled at his equal hard working nature. In May of 1979 I hired him as an Operations agent for Piedmont Airlines. In November of 1982 I hired Barbara as only the second female to work on the ramp for a commercial airline in Nashville. My association with them become deeply personal as well a professional. It is with great sadness that I learn of Gary's passing, and I know how badly Barbara must ache with his loss. Yes, they were the "loves of their lives" and belonged together. Barbara, Christina, you have my deepest sympathy.
