Gary, my nephew, was only 8 yrs old when I married and moved to CA but I will always remember him as a sweet boy who loved going to my mom and dad's house and the beach house and play with all the cousins. So sorry to hear of his passing. Mary R. Dugan (Walker)

I had the honor to work with Gary at Navy Public Works Center (1994-1997). We , engineers, traveled with crews to Navy bases all over the South, even Antigua, Hawaii, and the Phillipines performing lead based paint and asbestos surveys in Navy Housing. Gary was private but was always friendly and in a good humor. I enjoyed his intelligence and vast array of knowledge. Once we were discussing Stevie Ray Vaughn and Gary named every album Stevie Ray recorded!!
In 1994 I went on a camera safari to Kenya. Before I left, Gary approached me and quietly asked me if I would get him a spear. A month or so after I returned I gave Gary a native spear from the Samburu tribe. Gary was speechless for the first time that I witnessed. He thanked me and told me that he thought I had forgotten. I thought too much of him to forget such a request.
I saw Gary last year at the Gun Show at the Fair Grounds. When I called out his name he appeared to be startled that someone there knew him. We had not seen each other in over 10 years, and we were able to catch up on the details of our lives. He helped me select the gun I was looking for. I always felt that I could count on Gary as a true friend who would always give me the honest answers to my questions.
Gary knew many people and will be missed by each of them.
May God console each of us with our memories of Gary and what he meant to each of us.
In the name of Jesus Christ may God Bless You All.
With great sorrow and Remorse,

Gary was a band mate of mine as well at Brentwood Middle School under Ms. Neeb. He indeed was quiet. So sorry of this tragedy.

I am so sorry to hear of this and extend prayers and condolences to friends and family. Had a wonderful four years with Gary in the bands of Woodham High School. The news is especially sad for those of us in JRE. Not at all surprised to learn that he lived such a dynamic, full life. RIP friend.

Mr. wise you were the most amazing martial artist I knew I'm so glad I got to train with you and grow in Taekwondo! You always caught my spirits high and confident up too! I know there were many times I came to you for guidance! I remember being at my Senior Green belt testing and you walked over to me and put your hand on my shoulder said
"you got this don't stress it" you were one of the best instructors I had at Abercrombie Taekwondo! I'll never forget all the "wise" advice you shared with me over the years R.I.P Mr.Wise
